Free High School Master Class Day

Jazz and Modern
Calling all high school dancers at the intermediate/advanced level! Spend the day taking two master classes led by KSU faculty.
Your day will include:
- Exploring multiple styles of dance in classes
- Attending a Q&A with KSU dance faculty and students
- Visiting our studios and touring our facilities
- Discovering degree options of KSU’s dance program
Join our dance faculty and learn about opportunities that await you at Â鶹ÊÓƵ! Bring appropriate dance clothes and shoes, footless tights/leggings, socks, water and snacks. You will need to register and fill out a release form to participate in this master class, they are two separate forms. If you have any questions, please contact Tony Hardin at ahardi14@kent.edu.
Discover Theatre and Dance Visit Day
Our on-campus Discover Theatre and Dance Visit Days are free and open to all current high school and transfer students.
Discover the vibrant, creative and inclusive community we have here at the School of Theatre and Dance! You’ll start with a tour of our Center for the Performing Arts, followed by program sessions and specialized classes that give you a hands-on experience. We’ll take a break for lunch, then dive back in with workshops and extended learning options. The day wraps up with a Q&A session where you can get your questions answered by our faculty and student ambassadors. Students that have registered should meet in the Roe Green Lobby at the Center for the Performing Arts (1325 Theatre Drive) a few minutes early.

10 – 10:15 a.m.: Check-In (Roe Green Lobby)
10:15 – 11 a.m.: School Tour with Student Ambassadors (Roe Green Lobby)

11 a.m.– 12 p.m.: Dance: Modern 4 (Room D122)
11 a.m.– 12 p.m.: Sound/Projection Design Tech (Room D024)
11– 11:35 a.m.: Character and Scene Study I (Room D205)
12–1:10 p.m.: Lunch Break
Afternoon Options
1 – 1:45 p.m.: Musical Theatre Audition (D205)
1:10 – 1:50 p.m.: Draping for the Theatre (D204/C302)
1:10 – 1:50 p.m.: Ballet 2 (Room D125)
2 – 2:30 p.m.: Faculty/Ambassador Q and A (Wright Curtis Theatre)
Additional Instructions
- Plan to arrive on time to allow time for obtaining a parking pass and check in with Student Ambassadors and Faculty in the Roe Green Lobby.
- Parking instructions: Park in the C [commuter] Lot on the south side of the Center for Performing Arts, then obtain a parking pass being held for you in the lobby.
- This program is designed for high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students. Attendees will observe selected classes. Parents are also welcomed to observe however, space is limited.
- Students may attend a 1 p.m. class or take additional time for lunch. Bring a bag lunch or money for lunch. Eastway Cafeteria is near the building.
- The program ends at 2:30 p.m.; however, students may leave the program earlier. Â鶹ÊÓƵ offers a 90-minute campus tour at 2 p.m. This needs to be scheduled in advance and separately here: /admissions/tours-events
