Kimberly Haag, MSN, RN, CCRN
Biography
My nursing career started at University Hospital's Cleveland Medical Center Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Ahuja Medical Center's ICU. My teaching experience consisted of critical care clinicals, and I was a nursing professional development specialist at Ahuja's ICU and Step-Down Unit (SDU). My major responsibility was developing the professional growth of the entire nursing team and expanding upon their clinical judgment.
Some examples of the programs developed:
- Mock codes for the entire hospital
- Served on several committees
- Chaired resuscitation committee
- Assisted developing protocols for patients with COVID during cardiac arrest
- Designed a cardiac surgery training program
- Created an ICU escape room for nursing competencies.
During my experiences, I found I had a passion for teaching nursing students. My favorite part of teaching is when students have their, "Aha" moment, and they understand a concept they were struggling with. Being responsible to mold students into patient advocates, critical thinkers, and compassionate caregivers is a privilege. I take that responsibility very seriously, and I know Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s program does as well since I have been through it.
