Kent, OH– 鶹Ƶ Opera Theatre kicks off their Fall production with “Not/Ordinary: Scenes of Life and Love” November 17-19.
Experience a night out at the opera with 鶹Ƶ Opera Theatre! This year’s Fall production, “Not/Ordinary: Scenes of Life and Love,” explores the concept of love and its various forms– passion, obsession, longing and even suffering.
“The primary goal of the 鶹Ƶ Opera Theatre is to provide a nurturing, supportive environment for students to explore the myriad avenues of vocal performance,” said Jay White, director of opera studies. “The repertoire chosen for our productions has the skills and talents of our current students in mind. This provides opportunities to introduce new students to the art, and challenges others as they progress through the program.”
The opera repertoire includes iconic works across time: Gaetano Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love,” George F. Handel’s “Julius Caesar,” Wolfgang A. Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” and “The Impresario,” Gioachino Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville,” Stephen Sondheim’s “The Frogs,” and “Sunday in the Park with George,” and Arthur Sullivan’s “Princess Ida.”
