University of Latvia, Latvia - ISEP
The is located in Riga, the capital city of Latvia. Riga was founded in 1201 and is the largest city in Latvia and one of the country’s major ports. The University offers an expansive list of courses taught in English. The Baltic/Latvian Studies Program is especially recommended for ISEP students. It is taught in English and includes a Latvian language course. It covers Latvian literature and anthropology/cultural studies (focusing on Latvia); other topics include history and economics of Latvia and the Baltic region. There is also a Russian Studies Program, taught in Russian (with some courses in English) and requiring Russian language proficiency. The University of Latvia also organizes different activities for foreign exchange students which include introduction week, trips inside Latvia and journeys to the neighboring countries, thematic evenings and more. There is also a buddy system which helps exchange students integrate into the Latvian society and offers the opportunity to meet local students.

This study abroad experience is run through the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), a network of over 250 institutions in over 50 countries. 鶹Ƶ and ISEP have had a partnership for over 10 years. This partnership allows KSU students to apply to any of their programs.
