New Police Officer Training Program Grant

Birthday With Giving Day

Â鶹ÊÓƵ celebrated its 112th birthday on May 19 by launching its first-ever Day of Giving and raising $65,000 from more than 350 alumni, friends and partners in 24 hours to support a variety of scholarships.

George Jenkins, ’63, and his wife Gina, recently established a planned gift to create the Gina and George Jenkins Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will give preference to students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those from the Appalachian region.

When she receives her doctorate degree in cellular biology on May 14, Amber Rose Titus will enter an exclusive group: She will become one of just seven Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduates to earn her doctorate at the age of 25 or younger.
