TRIO programs provide direct support services for students, and relevant training for directors and staff. Each of these programs are funded in part by the United States Department of Education by way of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. The United States Department of Education assists in funding over 2,800 programs nationally that serve 790,000+ students. TRIO programs are committed to providing educational opportunities for Americans—regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstance.
