WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? BIRDS AND DRONES

In the new video series "What's the Big Idea?", Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Todd Diacon travels around campus exploring research activity. 

In Episode 2, Diacon talks with a student and an assistant professor from Â鶹ÊÓƵ's College of Aeronautics and Engineering about the research they are conducting involving birds, drones and the challenges in keeping them from colliding in the sky.

Katie Horn is a sophomore aeronautics major, who participated in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) last summer. Syed A.M. Shihab, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in Â鶹ÊÓƵ's College of Aeronautics and Engineering. He currently teaches Modeling and Forecasting for Aviation Logistics Planning and Introduction to Aerospace Engineering.
