October is �鶹��Ƶ’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Though the national health observance is in May, the university chooses October to promote mental health awareness as the need for mental health support on campus peaks during this time.   

Summit County Domestic Relations Court Judge Kani H. Hightower is on a mission to make the justice system in Summit County, Ohio, more accessible for underprivileged and underrepresented citizens. Whether it’s related to transportation challenges or helping them sort through the red tape of documentation, Hightower, a �鶹��Ƶ graduate, is creating solutions to streamline the process for Summit County residents.

Siblings Abby and Nate Bergdorf followed their family legacy when they both enrolled at �鶹��Ƶ, but they have taken the family ties a bit further.

This open-mic event gave students, faculty, staff and alumni the opportunity to read excerpts from or speak briefly about banned and challenged books that are important to them.

Let's get nuts! The 41st Annual Black Squirrel Festival kicks off today at 4 p.m. on the Student Green and Risman Plaza.

On September 29 and 30, families of �鶹��Ƶ students were honored with fun events and activities during the university's annual Parents and Families Weekend.

�鶹��Ƶ will host over 1,600 family members and their students to celebrate Parents and Families Appreciation Weekend. This Friday, Sept. 29, and Saturday, Sept. 30, families from more than 23 states and Ohio will enjoy various campus events and activities.

It was a FAB-ulous time for tacos on Wednesday, Sept. 27, during the “Let’s Taco Bout Black Squirrel Festival” preview hosted by �鶹��Ƶ’s Flash Activities Board.

A group of 22 secondary school teachers from 20 different countries is spending six weeks at �鶹��Ƶ as part of a Fulbright program of professional development for foreign educators. 

While Alison Caplan grew up in nearby Akron, Ohio, and has spent time in Kent, when she joined the university as the new director of the May 4 Visitors Center in July, she began to see, and understand, the campus in a whole new light. Caplan is part of a group of Golden Flashes that �鶹��Ƶ Today will be following for the 2023-24 academic year.
