The Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumni family grew by nearly 1,200 new graduates as the university held its summer commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2023 were recognized with outdoor commencement ceremonies on Aug. 19.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Lara Boman of Ashland, Ohio, to a two-year term as a Graduate Student Trustee of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Trustees.

Dog Days of Summer 2023

Â鶹ÊÓƵ canines and their human companions came to the Kent Campus for the Dog Days of Summer.

Once again, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has been named one of the Best Employers for Women in a nationwide ranking by Forbes and marketing research firm Statista. Â鶹ÊÓƵ has been named to the list for the sixth consecutive year, having been included each year since Forbes began publishing the Best Employers for Women list in 2018.

Honors College ranked high when graduate Josh Budd was deciding whether to attend Â鶹ÊÓƵ because it offered him a challenging experience through its thesis programs and its education-abroad program. Studying abroad helped him develop more empathy and connection with people of backgrounds different from his own. 

Interior designer Madelyn Orcutt traveled abroad and in New York City as a student at Â鶹ÊÓƵ

For Madelyn Orcutt, an interior designer who works for Richardson Design in Cleveland, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s personal touch, beautiful campus and proximity to her Canton, Ohio, home influenced her decision to attend the university.
