The School of Peace and Conflict Studies at Â鶹ÊÓƵ will host a Community Dialogue Workshop on February 17-19, 2023. The purpose of this conference is to bring together students, faculty, staff, practitioners and community members both new to dialogue and those who are already dedicated to using dialogue for intergroup communication, conflict de-escalation and resolution, and for building diverse coalitions for equity and justice at the community level. Details about this conference can be found at . Deadline for applications is November 1, 2022.
This conference intends to introduce new facilitators and evaluators to the practice and challenges of community-based group dialogue, share ideas and innovations across those doing this work, and forge connections between participants to create network of scholars and practitioners who can support each other to bring about positive social change.
Sessions will include a Friday full-day practical dialogue training for those interested in beginning their dialogue facilitation journey, followed by multiple collaborative sessions deepening our mutual understanding of dialogue practice, evaluation, and teaching on Saturday and Sunday. These sessions tentatively include using dialogue in the classroom, art and dialogue, facilitating difficult conversations, technology and dialogue, evaluating the effectiveness of dialogue programs, and the future of engaged scholarship in academia.
