Program of Study

Course Sequencing

In order to complete the program in 2 years, students should complete their coursework in the sequence that is outlined in their program of study. In their first semester, all MPA students are expected to register for PADM 60371 Graduate Introduction to Public Administration (1st seven week session) and PADM 60381 Methods in Public Administration (2nd seven week session). In subsequent semesters, students should follow the program of study that is designated for their term of admission (Fall Admit, Spring Admit, or Summer Admit).

Students that are required to complete an internship should register for PADM 60392 Internship in Public Administration after at least one full year in the program. During the semester in which they complete the 15 week internship course, students should also expect to complete the two 7 week courses designated in their program of study for that semester. Students consult with their advisor and the MPA Internship Coordinator to determine the appropriate semester in which to complete this requirement.
