Corrie Slawson Receives Cleveland Arts Prize
Corrie Slawson, M.F.A. ’06 has been awarded the for Mid-Career Artist in Visual Arts for 2021. She will receive her award at the 61st annual awards event at the Cleveland Museum of Art on October 13, 2021. Read the full story.
2021 Bowman Cup 5k Walk/Run (20th Annual)
Join Recreation Services for the in-person 20th Annual Bowman Cup 5k Walk/Run on Saturday, Oct 2, or participate in the virtual walk/run from Sunday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 2.
The race, named after fedora-loving former Â鶹ÊÓƵ President George Bowman, will use chip timing and take place during Â鶹ÊÓƵ Spirit Week. Running the course allows participants to enjoy the scenic route through Â鶹ÊÓƵ and the surrounding community.
Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the race will begin at 8 a.m., with awards and food immediately following in the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Reporting Line for Fraud and Fiscal Abuse
What is the Purpose of the Reporting Line for Fraud and Fiscal Abuse?
Â鶹ÊÓƵ is responsible for the stewardship of university resources and is committed to the highest standards of fiscal responsibility. The reporting line provides a formalized mechanism to communicate concerns related to fraud and fiscal abuse.
Employees are encouraged to discuss concerns with a supervisor, department head or another appropriate university official. If this is not a viable option or if you believe your concerns have not been addressed after reporting fiscal fraud or abuse, reports may be communicated through the reporting line provided by an independent company, and can be accessed toll free, 24/7 by calling (800) 683-5621.

Mental well-being is a state in which an individual realizes their own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to contribute to their community. Join Employee Wellness this October for webinars focused on (Oct. 20) and how (Oct. 12). We also encourage employees to review the services available to you and your family members through Â鶹ÊÓƵ Employee Assistance and Work/Life Program, Impact Solutions.

Next Mindful Mondays Session is October 4
Join one of the most skillful and down to earth mindfulness coaches, Daron Larson, for  as he shares doable, challenging, and liberating ways to practice mindfulness. Daron helps people develop attentional skills that lead to feeling more at home in the messiness of real life -- to savor pleasant moments more and fight less with the unpleasant ones. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
The Oct. 4 Mindful Mondays session will take place from 8:30 - 9 a.m. and is open to all full- and part-time employees. For those participating in the wellness rewards program, each session is worth 10 Tier 2 points. .

In-Person Health Coaching at the Kent Campus, October 5
Are you striving for better health but not sure where to start? Perhaps you have a specific health goal but seek expertise and accountability. If either of these statements resonate with you, you may consider scheduling a health coaching session with Be Well Solutions. You get to choose the topic you want to discuss, and during an individualized session, your certified health coach will support you in setting short-term and long-term goals. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
Onsite health coaching is available monthly at the Kent Campus in addition to unlimited virtual/telephonic health coaching available year-round. Onsite sessions are held in the Heer Hall Wellness Resource Room (room 103). The next available health coaching date is Tuesday, October 5.  &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
