Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Graduate Certificate in Early Intervention prepares individuals to work with infants and young children with developmental delays or disabilities. The program emphasizes evidence-based strategies for assessment, intervention, and family collaboration, providing students with the skills to support developmental growth in the critical early years. Through coursework and hands-on experience, students learn to create supportive, inclusive environments for young children and their families.
The Early Childhood Special Education program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ has been identified as a high-need area and has received federal funds to prepare individuals at the graduate level to work with families of infants and toddlers with disabilities in Early Intervention. This grant is called "Natural Environments by Teaming 2.0 (Project NExT 2.0." Full scholarships are available for this full-time, transdisciplinary certificate!
Did you know? This program is not just for students with an undergraduate degree in Special Education. Students with a degree in Speech Language Pathology, Human Development and Family Science, Teacher Licensure and other related fields are encouraged to apply for this program if interested.

Those with the graduate certificate in early intervention are prepared for roles such as early intervention specialists, developmental therapists, child development consultants, or family support coordinators. They may work in early childhood centers, public health agencies, or nonprofit organizations, supporting developmental assessments, individualized interventions, and family-centered care. This certificate enhances the expertise needed to contribute meaningfully to early childhood environments and lead initiatives that support developmental progress and family engagement.
