Teacher Performance Assessment

The teacher education handbook is designed to provide comprehensive information for students seeking initial licensure. Within the handbook, detailed information is provided as to the policies, procedures and practices that are needed for candidates to complete prior to advanced study (e.g. GPA, declaring a major, competency tests), once in advanced study (e.g., course requirements, field experiences), during student teaching (e.g., placements, expectations, assessments), and when completing the program (e.g., licensure tests, licensure application). In addition to these important milestones throughout a teacher candidate’s program, other topics, such as advising, assessment and accreditation, and professionalism are included. It is important for the candidate to review the teacher education handbook and utilize it regularly as a resource throughout the program
