CPM Non-Standard Machines
A non-standard machine is defined as: A desktop or laptop computer manufactured by any maker other than Dell, Apple or Microsoft, or a custom device by one of these approved manufacturers that is from a non-enterprise line of computers (Dell Precision and XPS devices are examples of non-enterprise systems).
All computers must:
- Be from a reputable manufacturer
- Include a minimum 3-year warranty
- Be manageable through University-supported imaging, patching and encryption platforms
It is recommended that non-standard machine purchases are from vendors Â鶹ÊÓƵ already has relationships with, including Dell, Apple, and Microsoft. The specifications (processor, hard drive, RAM, warranty, etc.) must meet or exceed those listed for the standard models.
Departments ordering a computer other than the standard models or upgraded standard models should complete the and submit it along with a valid quotation from the preferred supplier. Please include the departmental, non-grant, index that the computer should be charged to. Send this information to cpmrefresh@kent.edu. Please note that computer refresh orders must be placed by the CPM Refresh Group. Departments should not place orders directly. All computers will be received and inventoried by the CPM Refresh Group and then delivered to the faculty or staff member.
Please note that all CPM Refresh machines must adhere to the University Policy Register.
