The Mind Space

The Mind Space is an oasis of tranquility designed to foster mental well-being and relaxation.

Envision a serene room where soft, ambient lighting complements the gentle diffusion of therapeutic essential oils, creating an atmosphere of calm and comfort. Within this space, individuals are invited to engage in relaxation, guided by soothing sounds and mindfulness practices that encourage mental clarity. The space is adorned with comfortable seating, providing a welcoming environment for all who seek respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is a sanctuary where one can unwind, recharge, and reconnect with their inner peace through the harmonious blend of aromatherapy, meditation, and relaxation techniques.

Hours of Operation and Check-In

The Mind Space is available Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm for 30-minute reservations.

Please check in for your reservation in the Student Success Center room ATB 202 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time. This will give you adequate time to lock up your personal belongings (this is a technology free zone), prepare a soothing cup of hot tea, and ask any questions you may have.

Access the Mind Space

The Mind Space is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can partake in our offerings. We have one bench seating spot available during each time slot for individuals who may find floor seating challenging. Please let us know in the notes if you are in need of the bench seat.

Mind Space Activities

In the Mind Space, we understand the importance of mental well-being, which is why we've curated a range of activities designed to calm the mind and soothe the soul. Here's a glimpse of what awaits you:

  • Relaxation Cushions: Sink into our cozy relaxation cushions and let go of stress and tension. With ambient lighting and soothing music, our pods provide the perfect environment for deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
  • Adult Coloring: Rediscover the joy of creativity with our adult coloring sessions. Unleash your inner artist as you engage in this mindful activity, allowing your worries to fade away with every stroke of the pencil.
  • Napping Zones: Indulge in a blissful nap in your dedicated relaxation pod. Our comfortable seats and tranquil atmosphere ensure that you emerge feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Mind Space Use Guidelines
  • Please make an appointment to reserve time for the Mind Space.
  • The Mind Space is a technology-free area. Cell phones and other personal items should be placed in the provided secure lockers before entering the room. Cell phone use in space is for emergency use only; cell phones must be placed on silent upon entry.
  • The Mind Space is a quiet area for personal contemplation, meditation, or relaxation. Please do not use this room as a lounge, study room, a meeting room, or for any activities that might disturb others.
  • Please respect the requirement to create and maintain a peaceful, quiet atmosphere.; Please use headphones with low volume to listen to music or guided meditation.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted in the Mind Space.
  • Candles, burning oils, incense or any other flammable items are not permitted.
  • No posters, signs, or other displays are to be placed inside or outside the Mind Space at any time.
  • No items are to be removed from the room, and users are asked leave the room in the same condition as it was in prior to use.
  • Anyone found to be disruptive will be asked to leave and future access might be denied.
  • Any damages to the space or equipment are to be reported immediately to Jill Garst, Academic Program Officer jgarst@kent.edu.
