U.S. issues new policies for international travel

Beginning in November, all adult international travelers must be fully vaccinated before coming into the United States. Additionally, all international travelers must show proof of a negative test result, taken within 72 (seventy-two) hours of departure into the U.S.

U.S. citizens have the same requirement. However, if the U.S. citizen or permanent resident is unvaccinated, they will still be able to fly to the U.S. They will need to test 24 (twenty-four) hours prior to inbound flight boarding and will have tougher protocols for clearance.

These new policies currently only affect inbound international air travel. The current restrictions on crossing international land borders remains unchanged for now, which include testing before entry back into the U.S.

This information is provided by AP News. As always, on every Christopherson travel itinerary there is a “Know before you Go” link at the top. Travelers should use that link after booking their trip and then again just before their trip incase there have been any updates. Additional information and links can be found on the University Travel website's "Know Before you Go" tab.
