Study Abroad
This summer, students in Â鶹ÊÓƵ's School of Art had an opportunity to study in Italy through the university's Florence Summer Institute program.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ's founding president was born on Jan. 8, 1867. His tireless dedication to the institution and its students is reflected in innovations that continue to propel Â鶹ÊÓƵ forward today.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ Photographer Bob Christy and a handful of students spent more than six hours last July in Akagera National Park; the trip was near the end of the students' summer educational experience known as the Kigali Summer Institute, which explores the post-genocide reconstruction of Rwanda and issues related to peace and conflict in the context of the country’s history.
Two new scholarships from Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Office of Global Education aim make education-abroad experiences possible for all Â鶹ÊÓƵ students.
G Clingman is a third-year Â鶹ÊÓƵ Student double majoring in English and Spanish while also working toward their Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. Though they have been studying at KSU’s main campus for the last two years, G is swapping Acorn Alley and the Esplanade for the historical streets of Murcia, Spain.
Emily Hovest is a third-year student studying architecture at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Florence Center for the Spring semester. It was always her desired destination, especially since the KSU architecture program encourages students to study abroad their junior year.
