Dr. Thomas Brewer is a Professor of Health Policy and Management, College of Public Health. Dr. Brewer began his career at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2002 in the Department of Justice Studies, College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Brewer served on the exploratory committee for the creation of the College of Public Health and was a founding faculty member. He went on to be Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs before returning to the faculty full time in 2013. His current teaching and research interests center on health care law, regulatory compliance, and effects of preventive podiatric care on conditions of the diabetic foot. He also teaches in the public health curriculum at the College of Podiatric Medicine and coordinates the joint D.P.M.-M.P.H. program.
Dr. Brewer holds a B.A., Summa Cum Laude, in Criminal Justice Studies from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from The University at Albany, and a Masters in Jurisprudence in Health Law from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. He is Certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Compliance Certification Board. He served in the United States Army and Ohio Army National Guard as a military policemen.
