Dr. Sheryl L. Chatfield, assistant professor at the College of Public Health, will soon serve as the full time Editor of the Ohio Journal of Public Health. Dr. Chatfield will begin her term in June 2021, overseeing the online open access journal that provides commentary, education, and peer reviewed research about public health in Ohio.

She will replace Ohio State University professor Dr. Amy Ferketich, who teaches public health and served as Ohio Journal of Public Health editor since its 2018 inception.

The journal will be published by The Ohio State University Libraries. The editorial board consists of representatives from each of the accredited public health programs in Ohio.

“I am very pleased and excited about having this opportunity. I have worked during the last few years in consultant and assistant editor positions for other journals,  and this reflects my first opportunity to be Editor of a journal. I bring a commitment to quality tempered by awareness of the critical need to encourage and develop new scholars, including students and public health practitioners. To this end, I hope to particularly encourage new scholars' engagement in dissemination and peer review processes, and to highlight diverse voices and views,” said Dr. Chatfield.

The College of Public Health congratulates Dr. Sheryl L. Chatfield for her new role!
