Nearly 100 students, staff, faculty and community guests attended the “Leading Change and Innovation Within Health Insurance” event on September 29, held at 鶹Ƶ’s Design Innovation Hub.
The event, featuring three expert panelists, was made possible through the support of our sponsors AultCare, HSA Store, NFP and USI Insurance Services.
Students in attendance received a free copy of the book The End of Insurance As We Know It, written by panelist Rob Galbraith, founder & CEO at Forestview Insights. Other panelists included Mike Novelli, sales and client retention strategist at AultCare, and Lili Radic, senior benefit coordinator at NFP. The panel presentation was followed by an extended interprofessional discussion where students brainstormed solutions to complex insurance issues discussed by panelists.

Quotes from participants
Alaina Auell – MPH student, Social and Behavioral Sciences
“The event was a really valuable opportunity to me as a primarily online student, because I got to visit Kent Campus for the first time and build further professional relationships in person. Engaging in the dialogue regarding innovation in healthcare with not only other students, but also seasoned professionals in the profession as well made the experience truly feel collaborative. We were all there with the same goal in mind, to be a part of the solution and improve the population's health. The event felt like a catalyst for me in terms of absorbing new perspectives and approaches and how that relates to my own public health career.”

"I really enjoyed the Leading Change and Innovation Within Health Insurance event. I was able to meet a group of incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable professionals across disciplines. It was a space where I felt less alone in my own journey in navigating the insurance and healthcare world while also engaging in important, much needed conversations on how we as public health professionals can be a part of these health solutions.”
