Naomi Carlson, MPH ‘16
Naomi Carlson, MPH, has recently stepped into the executive director role at the Headwaters Regional Development Commission (HRDC) in Minnesota. Prior to this, she was a development specialist for HRDC focusing on improving transportation access and coordination for the most vulnerable populations, and on increasing opportunities for active living and healthy strategies within schools and communities. She will now get to work with her talented staff team to lead the way in economic development, housing and transportation projects and initiatives within the 5 county region. Carlson graduated with her Master’s in Public Health, with an Environmental Health Sciences concentration, in 2016 from Â鶹ÊÓƵ.

Shanice Cheatham, MPH, ‘21
Shanice Cheatham is a Presidential Fellow at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Cheatham graduated from Â鶹ÊÓƵ with her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology (2013) and her Master of Public Health in Health Policy & Management (2021).
As a Presidential Fellow, Cheatham works with Dr.James E.K. Hildreth with major projects of the Meharry Medical College in order to build leadership skills as well as to help the college realize their 10 year strategic plan. Cheatham is also participating in an internship at Heritage Group in healthcare finance, learning healthcare finance principles with application to business plan development for her company, Endemic Solutions.
Cheatham will continue her education after her fellowship to become a surgeon, while continuing to expand Endemic Solutions by adding a global health surgery center for underserved communities to the already launched global health care company focused on products.
