The Â鶹ÊÓƵ College of Business Administration’s (COBA) Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (CEBI) hosted its third annual CEBI Idea Pitch in a virtual format on Thursday, November 12.
Sponsored by the Ohio Innovation Fund, the CEBI Idea Pitch provides students the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to an esteemed panel of judges. In addition, the first-place winner earned a spot in the Annual CEBI Pitch competition this spring.
Two Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Fashion students placed and won prizes in the competition. Senior fashion design student Mattney Yates was awarded second place and $600 for her pitch for her company, The Capsule Collective. The Capsule Collective focuses on fashion sustainability and repurposes used jeans into one-of-a-kind jackets. Customers can mail in their jeans and will receive a modern statement jacket in return.
Heeju Noe, a graduate student in the Fashion Industry Studies master’s program took home third place in the competition and was awarded a $400 prize for her brand, Workmanship. Workmanship is an apparel brand that offers innovative, transformative designs with detachable sleeves, collars and cuffs.
Jonathan Henry, a graduate student in the COBA M.B.A. program, took home the first-place prize of $1,000.
