Marji Wachowiak earned her B.S. in Fashion Design from the University of Cincinnati and her M.S. in Marketing and Communications from Franklin University.

After 25+ years of extensive fashion industry experience, Marji joined the 鶹Ƶ faculty in 2011. She has worked with some of the largest retailers and brands in the United States including Limited Brands, Target, Levis and Nike. Marji has been involved in all aspects of bringing product to the consumer with specializations in branding, buying, product development, and sourcing. As an accomplished business professional, Marji incorporates her real life experiences into the learning environment.

Ms. Wachowiak’s teaching philosophy focuses on preparing students to succeed by employing three key skills: (1) thinking critically through problem solving, (2) working collaboratively, and (3) communicating effectively. To effectuate her philosophy, Marji does not simply lecture she disseminates information to students in a form that encourages utilization and refinement of essential skills.

Ms. Wachowiak embraces activity-based teaching at all levels. By tapping into her extensive industry connections, she provides an array of guest speakers who contribute a wide range of knowledge and actively participate with the students.

Recognizing that technology continues to change the world in which we live, Marji is committed to its integration within the learning environment. This improves the possibilities of customizing deep learning and ultimately improves student achievement.

As a 24/7 enthusiastic advocate for the School of Fashion, Marji constantly champions its students. Her ultimate satisfaction is that of watching her students’ continual growth into college graduates who possess not only that “piece of paper” but also the accompanying knowledge, skills  and confidence to succeed in their career journeys.
