The Club Management Association of America recently announced that the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter won the Student Chapter of the Year award for small size chapters. The award recognizes the outstanding work and successful accomplishments of student chapters. This program reflects the student academic year from Aug. 1-April 30.
The only other time Â鶹ÊÓƵ brought home such an accomplishment was in 2018. The $1,000 prize will provide complimentary registration for five students to attend this year's national conference March 4-8 in Las Vegas.
"I'm so excited for our students," said Mandy Ulicney, faculty advisor for the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter of association. "This is a huge accomplishment within the organization. Our students worked hard and are very deserving of this award. Their excitement and desire to learn more about the Club Industry is inspiring! We are so proud to have dozens of alumni working in upper-management roles in clubs throughout the country and the list keeps growing. I can't wait to see where this current group of students ends up!"
A Student Chapter of the Year award is given for each size category and those winning chapters will also receive a $1,000 World Conference registration grant provided by The Club Foundation.
To be considered, students in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter submitted an application that highlighted a number of activities taken on by the 20 or so members of Kent’s chapter, including:
- attending educational sessions.
- touring various properties.
- meeting with managers who became mentors.
- networking with managers at the parent chapter in Greater Cleveland Chapter.
