Michael Bell, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Michael Bell (he/him) serves as the Assistant Dean of Assessment and Accreditation at the College of Education, Health, and Human Services at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. In this role since 2023, he oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assessment and accreditation initiatives across the college and related educator preparation programs. His duties include ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, developing assessment tools with faculty to enhance academic quality, and coordinating data collection and analysis efforts. Dr. Bell ensures that program offerings continually meet the highest standards of educational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Dr. Bell is a proud alumnus of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, earning his Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2019. Prior to that, he completed his Master of Business Administration with a focus on Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Education, both from the University of Akron. His education and higher education experience have equipped him with the rigorous analytical and strategic skills that he applies in his administrative roles, particularly in areas of research, strategic planning, educational policy, and data-driven decision-making.
Dr. Bell is an active contributor to the academic community at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and beyond. He is a member of the University’s Advisory Committee for Academic Assessment and other key groups focusing on curriculum and student success metrics. Dr. Bell's dedication to service is also evident in his involvement with professional development activities and community service, demonstrating a leadership style that blends evidence-based decision-making with a genuine commitment to fostering student success.
