Dr. Jennifer Waugh
Biography
Jennifer Waugh (she/her), an Assistant Professor in Counselor Education and Supervision and Assistant Director of the Counseling Center at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, is currently licensed in Ohio as a Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Endorsement (LPCC-S), a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Dr. Waugh has experience as a clinical mental health counselor, supervisor of counselors toward licensure, director of residential and vocational programs in community mental health agencies, and working with community stakeholders regarding mental health needs.
Dr. Waugh has presented on topics related to serious mental illness, ethics, substance use disorders, stress management and college students, and supervision techniques. Her research interests including working with clients that have a serious mental illness, best practices when working with clients who have a serious mental illness, how to evaluate empathy in counseling students, and supervision.
Dr. Waugh is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA). In addition to teaching Practicum and Internship courses she is the Assistant Director of the Counseling Center, a training facility for KSU counseling students and mental health resource for both the university and nearby community.
