Active Minds at Â鶹ÊÓƵ held their first meeting of the 2019-2020 academic year on Tuesday, September 10th. Because this day also happened to be National Suicide Prevention Day, Chapter President, Kayla Marker decided to hold a mental health awareness training for members. This training utilized Kognito and walked students through important aspects of recognizing when someone is in need of mental health assistance, initiating a conversation, and referring them to resources. A representative from Kent Wired attended the training to report on the importance of mental health in college.
