Located in the former WKSU studio building at the corner of Summit Street and Loop Road, TeleProductions has a new home in the Kent Broadcast Center.
The newly renovated facility is poised to become the on-campus media hub for creative and innovative professional storytelling, offering several high quality studio spaces to serve the needs of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community. Students can create industry-quality media content and gain experience that helps prepare them for the next generation of digital careers.
The studios in the Kent Broadcast Center include an Audio Podcasting Studio with space for three guests, a Remote Recording Studio that allows for high quality recording in an acoustically optimized space while connecting with anyone in the world, classroom space for University-related coursework that relies on audio or video digital media and a state-of-the-art Production Studio.
The centerpiece of the renovations is, of course, the Production Studio's 9 foot tall, 16 foot wide super high resolution LED video wall, the only one on campus designed for the production environment with a pixel pitch (the distance from one pixel's center to the center of the one next to it) of 1.89mm.
This pixel density allows the Production Studio to use the wall to realistically simulate indoor and outdoor spaces while recording in a controlled environment and to film close to the video wall with a clean, crisp image. This makes our Production Studio the ideal place for our campus partners to record audio and video in our controlled environment.
Whether it's streaming Esports, recording Â鶹ÊÓƵ's commencement ceremonies or broadcasting our athletics teams, TeleProductions has provided the university and surrounding community with media services for over 60 years. Our new studio spaces position us to continue to meet those future needs for our community.
