Â鶹ÊÓƵ's College Of Business Administration Announces New General Business Major

KENT, OHIO - MARCH 13, 2016

Â鶹ÊÓƵ's College of Business Administration has added a General Business major within the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

The General Business major will allow full time workers who left college prior to graduation a convenient way to complete their business baccalaureate degree online, since the last two years of the program is fully offered online.

"The General Business major was designed with working adults and returning students in mind.  It is flexible so students can return during any term-courses will be available summer, fall or spring," said Alex Moore, director of the Undergraduate Programs Office at the College of Business Administration. "Our advisors will work with students to create a personal graduation plan taking into consideration their previous college credits earned."

The General Business major provides an in-depth understanding of all business areas rather than a specialized area of business, such as accounting, business management, computer information systems, economics, entrepreneurship, finance or marketing. All courses are offered online, enabling students to never step on campus for flexibility and lifestyle convenience, and face-to-face classes are also available.

Students of the General Business major will graduate with the skills to be an effective manager with leadership ability to affectively handle organizational dilemmas; use financial tools to create budgets, prepare financial statements and report financial position; identify and analyze global considerations that affect business decisions; analyze, interpret and use data to solve problems and make decisions and create and communicate value for consumers.

The General Business major is offered through the Department of Management and Information Systems, one of five academic departments within the College of Business Administration.

"The General Business program aligns with Â鶹ÊÓƵ's mission allowing students to expand their 'intellectual horizons' through exposure to more in-depth study in all areas of business rather than focusing on one," said Deborah F. Spake, dean of the College of Business Administration. "Plus if you are a from out of state student there is no application necessary or fee through direction from an academic advisor. You begin right where you left off."
