Trustee Abygail C. Deemer

Residence: Warren, OhioOhio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Abygail C. Deemer of Warren, Ohio, to a two-year term as an Undergraduate Student Trustee of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Trustees. Her appointment ends May 16, 2026.
Deemer is a senior biology major and honors student. A dedicated student leader, she has held multiple leadership roles at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. She served as the Undergraduate Student Government’s director of finance and administration from March 2023 to February 2024, where she assisted the organization’s general assembly with planning and executing events for the student body. Since December 2023, she has served as the Panhellenic Council’s vice president of risk management and peer accountability. In that position, she has planned events and created accessible, virtual lessons focused on wellness. She also previously served as a Â鶹ÊÓƵ orientation leader and a Kent Student Center Information Desk assistant.
In 2023, Deemer was a nominee for the Nancy and John Scott Leadership Award, which recognizes a Â鶹ÊÓƵ student who has shown exceptional leadership through their organizational involvement and has had a positive and significant impact on the greater Â鶹ÊÓƵ community. Deemer’s activities also include serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), a position she has held since September 2023.
