KSU ANTHROPOLOGISTS AWARDED 2020 IgNOBEL PRIZE!!!

Join us in congratulating our cutting edge anthropologists, Drs. Metin Eren, Michelle Bebber, Mary Ann Raghanti and graduate students (past and present) Dusty Norris (’20), Alyssa Perrone (’20), Ashley Rutkoski (’19), and Mike Wilson!

Their research, titled “Experimental replication shows knives manufactured from frozen human feces do not work” (published in the Journal of Archaeological Science) was awarded a ! The prize ceremony was webcast on the on September 17, 2020.  

Wonderfully, another of the 2020 Ig Nobel prize winners is , one of our collaborators at the . He and his colleagues demonstrated that an alligator's vocalizations are altered after inhaling helium. Dr. Nishimura hosted KSU anthropologists Dr. Richard Meindl and PhD student Rose Leach.
