The JSPS is the major funding body in Japan, similar to the United State's National Science Foundation (NSF). 

Following their presentation, graduate students Cody Ruiz and Danielle Jones will provide short descriptions of research that they conducted at the . Both Cody and Danielle received funding through JSPS and NSF for their summer research internships.
